Holiday Trading Schedule for August 2026
The UK Summer Bank Holiday closes out August with a long weekend in London. Two dates are affected, both of them UK venues: an early close on the Friday and a full stop on the Monday. Here is the instrument-level schedule.

August is the quietest month on the holiday calendar, and this year it stays that way until the very end. The UK Summer Bank Holiday falls on the last Monday of the month, closing London for a three-day weekend. Everything else keeps its normal hours.
Only UK venues are affected, which means the impact is narrow but worth planning around: FTSE100 wraps up early on the Friday, and both FTSE100 and XALUSD sit out the Monday entirely.
All times below are based on the trading terminal server time (EET).

A closed London session usually means thinner liquidity across the European morning even in instruments that stay open, so spreads can widen on moves that would normally be absorbed. If you hold FTSE100 or XALUSD positions into the weekend, decide before Friday's close whether to carry them through a market you cannot exit until Tuesday.
Normal hours resume on Tuesday, September 1.
